The Children's Development Bank (CDB) gives children the change to safe their money in a safe way. CDB is a school for learning management, participatory, democracy, leadership, and accountability. The CDB will also gradually help the children/adolescents to start their own small enterprises. Child Welfare Scheme Nepal was able to start this bank with a technical support from Butterflies, India and financial support from Consortium for Street Children, UK. The bank opened on the 4th of August. Till now, 60 children already opened their saving account. Over fourteen thousand Rupees is now in the saving accounts of these children!

A three member team headed by Bashu Dev Ram Joshi, former chairman of Rastriya Banijya Bank, took charge of the management of Nepal Bangladesh (NB) Bank from Friday. The team that was selected for the management contract through bidding process is allowed to run the commercial bank for the next eight months, said an official at the Nepal Rastra Bank (NRB).
