Shigatse is Tibet's second largest city - about 5 hours by road from Lhasa. It is the site of Tashilumpo Monastery, seat of the Panchen Lama and one of the largest religious complexes in Tibet. Hotel Manasarovar was built in 2001, in Tibetan style. All rooms have air-conditioning, TV and telephone.
